Op Shop Finder Australia is a free, independent directory helping Australians discover op shops, thrift stores and charity shops in their area. We currently list 3,306 stores across 1,488 cities in all 8 states and territories.

Why we built this

Australia has a rich op shopping culture, but finding stores near you often means scrolling through Google Maps, outdated directories or Facebook groups. We wanted a single, well-organised place where anyone can browse op shops by state and city, check opening hours, read reviews and get directions.

Where the data comes from

Our listings are sourced from Google Maps business data. Each entry includes the store name, address, phone number, opening hours, customer ratings and reviews when available. We update our database regularly to keep information accurate.

What is an op shop?

"Op shop" is short for "opportunity shop" -- a uniquely Australian term for charity-run second-hand stores. These shops sell donated clothing, furniture, books, homewares and more at affordable prices. All proceeds support charitable organisations like the Salvation Army (Salvos), St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies), Lifeline and the Red Cross.
