What's an op shop, anyway?
"Op" is short for opportunity. An op shop is a charity-run secondhand store — same as a thrift store in the US, charity shop in the UK, but with more meat pies and Pyrex.
They sell donated clothing, furniture, books and homewares at low prices, with all proceeds funding charitable work. Australia has a thriving op shop culture, and this site indexes every single one we can find.
